The owner didn't write this. This repo never submitted itself. The Cap'm found it on a truffle trawl and wrote its paperwork from what GitHub already shows. Picked by hand by the Cap'm on 2026-10-11: 🎖️🎨 Instantly create custom badges for GitHub, docs, and more. Lightweight, self-hostable, with live integra; its own README says "Presets picture img src=" alt="Handmade badge preset" / /picture picture img src=" alt="Vibe Coded badge preset" / /picture Presets combine ". 51 stars; MIT license. The owner did not submit this. Votes count; awards don't until the owner claims it.

I'm not calling your project slop! Geeze, it's a joke... Do you own this repo?

Log in with GitHub as vladkens. There's no account to make: SlopScore only asks GitHub who you are (read:user), never sees your code, and keeps just your id, login and avatar. Then you can:

  • Keep it, on your terms. Commit your own slopscore.md (spec) and press Refresh. Your paperwork replaces the Cap'm's, and you can submit it for Slop of the Day.
  • Take it down. One click on Remove. It stays gone; the trawl never brings it back.

The Cap'm's log

The Cap'm wrote this paperwork, not the owner. This repo never submitted itself to SlopScore. The Cap'm picked it by hand: 🎖️🎨 Instantly create custom badges for GitHub, docs, and more. Lightweight, self-hostable, with live integra; its own README says "Presets picture img src=" alt="Handmade badge preset" / /picture picture img src=" alt="Vibe Coded badge preset" / /picture Presets combine ". It carries the MIT license. The disclosures above are his best guess from what GitHub shows.

Is this yours? Commit a real slopscore.md and press Refresh to replace this, or remove the listing in one click. There's no account to make: you log in with GitHub.

Styles & Effects

Choose flat, flat-square, or for-the-badge, then tune the radius or add an animation:

Flat badge style Flat-square badge style For-the-badge style Badge with shine animation Badge with aurora animation

shine sweeps a soft highlight across the badge, while aurora adds a slowly drifting field of color. The rendering library also provides flow for animated gradients, with all animations respecting reduced-motion preferences.

Presets

Handmade badge preset Vibe Coded badge preset

Presets combine custom artwork and effects into stable URLs. /handmade uses a custom SVG icon with Shine; /vibecoded combines a multicolor icon, gradient, and Aurora animation.

Icons

Use logo and logoColor to add and customize a name from Simple Icons. Lookups are case-insensitive, common separators may be omitted, and removed or renamed slugs from supported historical releases remain available. Names such as GitHub Actions, C++, and .NET work directly when URL-encoded:

GitHub Actions icon C++ icon .NET icon

Logos follow the text color by default; set logoColor only when you need an explicit override. The legacy icon and iconColor names remain accepted as aliases.

Get Started in 10 Seconds

Creating your custom badge is as easy as plugging values into a URL:

https://badges.ws/badge/{label}-{message}-{color}

Replace {label}, {message}, and {color} with your desired text and color code, and your badge is ready to shine! Embed it in your readme.md:

[<img src="https://badges.ws/badge/Version-1.0.0-red" />](https://your-project.link)

Options

Parameter Description
label Text shown on the left side
labelColor Background color for the left side

logoColor Explicit logo color; defaults to the text color
style flat, flat-square, or for-the-badge

GitHub JSON

Use /github/json/{user}/{repo}/{branch}/{path}?query={field} to render a value from a JSON file in a public GitHub repository. Dot-separated queries and the $.field form are supported. Set kind=count to format an integer count or kind=size to format a byte size.

/github/json/vladkens/hn-timeseries/data/stats.json?query=stories&kind=count&label=stories

Or self-host your badge service:

docker run -d -p 8080:8080 ghcr.io/vladkens/badges:main

GitHub API Authentication

GitHub badges work without authentication, but a token increases the API rate limit. Create a fine-grained personal access token and leave additional permissions disabled—the service only reads public data. Pass one or more comma-separated tokens through GH_TOKENS:

GH_TOKENS=github_pat_TOKEN_1,github_pat_TOKEN_2

For Docker:

docker run -d -p 8080:8080 \
  -e GH_TOKENS='github_pat_TOKEN_1,github_pat_TOKEN_2' \
  ghcr.io/vladkens/badges:main
