The owner didn't write this. This repo never submitted itself. The Cap'm found it on a truffle trawl and wrote its paperwork from what GitHub already shows. Picked by hand by the Cap'm on 2026-10-11: A zero-server, privacy-first PDF-to-audio engine running natively in the browser via the Web Speech API.; its own README says "Device-blue?style=for-the-badge" alt="Privacy"/ img src=" With-Vibe Coding-orange?style=for-the-badge" alt="Vibe Coded"/ /p /div --- ParseWa". 1 stars; MIT license. The owner did not submit this. Votes count; awards don't until the owner claims it.

I'm not calling your project slop! Geeze, it's a joke... Do you own this repo?

Log in with GitHub as sambuddha001. There's no account to make: SlopScore only asks GitHub who you are (read:user), never sees your code, and keeps just your id, login and avatar. Then you can:

  • Keep it, on your terms. Commit your own slopscore.md (spec) and press Refresh. Your paperwork replaces the Cap'm's, and you can submit it for Slop of the Day.
  • Take it down. One click on Remove. It stays gone; the trawl never brings it back.

The Cap'm's log

The Cap'm wrote this paperwork, not the owner. This repo never submitted itself to SlopScore. The Cap'm picked it by hand: A zero-server, privacy-first PDF-to-audio engine running natively in the browser via the Web Speech API.; its own README says "Device-blue?style=for-the-badge" alt="Privacy"/ img src=" With-Vibe Coding-orange?style=for-the-badge" alt="Vibe Coded"/ /p /div --- ParseWa". It carries the MIT license. The disclosures above are his best guess from what GitHub shows.

Is this yours? Commit a real slopscore.md and press Refresh to replace this, or remove the listing in one click. There's no account to make: you log in with GitHub.

🌊 ParseWave

Your documents, read aloud — right now.

Browser Local Privacy Vibe Coded

ParseWave is a lightning-fast, highly functional PDF-to-audio engine built to do one thing perfectly: let you listen to your documents without the friction of sign-ups, API keys, or cloud uploads.

The entire narration pipeline runs directly inside your browser. No data ever leaves your machine.

⚡ Why I Built This

I needed a way to review heavy PDFs and documentation while multitasking. The commercial market is flooded with bloated SaaS tools that charge monthly fees or steal your document data. ParseWave skips all that. It’s a pure utility tool built for speed, privacy, and low-level resource efficiency.

🛠️ The Architecture

  • Zero Server Dependency: Audio synthesis relies entirely on your browser's native Web Speech API.
  • Intelligent Parsing: Automatically strips out the junk (running headers, page numbers, images) and stitches hyphenated words back together for seamless playback.
  • Unlimited Scale: Because it runs locally, there are absolutely no file length limits or hidden paywalls.

🚀 How to Use

Getting started is completely frictionless.

  1. Drop the File: Drag your PDF or plain text file into the drop zone on the landing page (or click to browse).
  2. Wait for the Clean-Up: ParseWave instantly extracts the core paragraphs and dialogue, leaving the formatting noise behind.
  3. Press Play: Hit the play button. The native narrator will begin reading aloud immediately.

🎧 Player Controls

Once your document is loaded, you have complete control over the playback matrix:

  • Live Captions: The text box highlights the exact paragraph currently being spoken so you never lose your place.
  • Voice Selection: Choose from any native voice installed on your system (e.g., Google US English).
  • Speed Overrides: Easily ramp the speed from 0.75x up to 2.0x for rapid reviewing.
  • Section Skips: Jump back and forth between document sections instantly using the timeline scrubber.

🤖 Vibe Coded

This project was proudly vibe coded, an emerging programming paradigm where software behavior is described through natural language prompts to AI tools.

  • Instead of writing code line-by-line, the development process focused on iterating on and validating AI-generated solutions.
  • The core philosophy was intent over syntax—steering, testing, and course-correcting the AI to rapidly ship a functional product.

Shipping beats perfecting.

Zero-server, browser-native PDF-to-audio with no dependencies, no telemetry, no credentials required, and clean dependency advisory record.

Schnitzel and Cap'm Slop read it and passed. Their reasons are on the balcony, with every other verdict.
