The owner didn't write this. This repo never submitted itself. The Cap'm found it on a truffle trawl and wrote its paperwork from what GitHub already shows. Picked by hand by the Cap'm on 2026-10-04: AI-powered news discovery tool which explores topics via APIs by using Anthropic’s Claude model and surfaces t; its own README says "It can also request an analysis written by Claude of stories deemed to be critical and relevant". 1 stars; MIT license. The owner did not submit this. Votes count; awards don't until the owner claims it.

I'm not calling your project slop! Geeze, it's a joke... Do you own this repo?

Log in with GitHub as devbret. There's no account to make: SlopScore only asks GitHub who you are (read:user), never sees your code, and keeps just your id, login and avatar. Then you can:

  • Keep it, on your terms. Commit your own slopscore.md (spec) and press Refresh. Your paperwork replaces the Cap'm's, and you can submit it for Slop of the Day.
  • Take it down. One click on Remove. It stays gone; the trawl never brings it back.

The Cap'm's log

The Cap'm wrote this paperwork, not the owner. This repo never submitted itself to SlopScore. The Cap'm picked it by hand: AI-powered news discovery tool which explores topics via APIs by using Anthropic’s Claude model and surfaces t; its own README says "It can also request an analysis written by Claude of stories deemed to be critical and relevant". It carries the MIT license. The disclosures above are his best guess from what GitHub shows.

Is this yours? Commit a real slopscore.md and press Refresh to replace this, or remove the listing in one click. There's no account to make: you log in with GitHub.

Anthropic News Bot

Screenshot of the Analytics tab after a run.

AI-powered news discovery tool which explores topics via APIs by using Anthropic's Claude model and surfaces the most significant stories in a dashboard.

Application Overview

The app begins with a root keyword and queries both the NewsAPI and GNews APIs concurrently for recent articles. Results are merged and deduplicated by URL. Anthropic's Claude model then analyzes each batch using JSON, determining whether the keyword reveals an emerging trend, suggesting follow-up keywords and flagging important articles. The application also feeds Claude's suggested keywords back into the queue, until the daily search quota is exhausted.

Every run is saved to a timestamped folder inside the output directory, which contains a (1) comprehensive log detailing every search and decision, (2) deduplicated timeline of noteworthy stories and (3) archive of all collected articles. A shared index.json file catalogs all completed runs for the dashboard.

The dashboard provides Results and Analytics tabs for viewing information about and from any combination of runs. The Analytics tab renders 8 D3 visualizations, including cumulative trends, top sources and a word cloud. It can also request an analysis written by Claude of stories deemed to be critical and relevant.
