The owner didn't write this. This repo never submitted itself. The Cap'm found it on a truffle trawl and wrote its paperwork from what GitHub already shows. Picked by hand by the Cap'm on 2026-09-11: a cross-store PC game launcher that unifies Steam, GOG, Epic and DRM-free libraries with a controller-first mode, a "Personal project, vibe-coded". 34 stars; MIT license. The owner did not submit this. Votes count; awards don't until the owner claims it.

I'm not calling your project slop! Geeze, it's a joke... Do you own this repo?

Log in with GitHub as atxoxx. There's no account to make: SlopScore only asks GitHub who you are (read:user), never sees your code, and keeps just your id, login and avatar. Then you can:

  • Keep it, on your terms. Commit your own slopscore.md (spec) and press Refresh. Your paperwork replaces the Cap'm's, and you can submit it for Slop of the Day.
  • Take it down. One click on Remove. It stays gone; the trawl never brings it back.

The Cap'm's log

The Cap'm wrote this paperwork, not the owner. This repo never submitted itself to SlopScore. The Cap'm picked it by hand: a cross-store PC game launcher that unifies Steam, GOG, Epic and DRM-free libraries with a controller-first mode, a "Personal project, vibe-coded". It carries the MIT license. The disclosures above are his best guess from what GitHub shows.

Is this yours? Commit a real slopscore.md and press Refresh to replace this, or remove the listing in one click. There's no account to make: you log in with GitHub.

🐧 Linux, Wine & Proton

GameIndex is built for Linux gaming, not ported to it. The compatibility layer is configurable globally and per game, with no external helper scripts required:

  • Runners — detect Steam/System Wine, CachyOS, Lutris, Heroic and community builds; download GE-Proton, CachyOS, Proton-EM, Wine-GE, Kron4ek and Soda releases in-app; install local archives; uninstall what GameIndex manages.
  • Prefixes — shared default prefix or one per game, compatdata reuse for Steam titles, prefix inspection (arch, validity, version, size, linked games), clone/reset/delete, Wine tools and one-click winetricks packages.
  • Launch pipeline[gamescope] [gamemoderun] [mangohud] [umu-run | runner] game.exe, with DXVK/VKD3D, esync/fsync/ntsync, Wayland, WoW64, large-address-aware, DLL overrides, per-game env vars and exclusion lists.
  • Display & performance — Gamescope (FSR/NIS, HDR, VRR, resolution/FPS/refresh controls), MangoHud logging, GameMode, PRIME/GPU pinning and FPS readback into Activity.
  • Steam integration — reversible Wine/Proton launch-option merging in localconfig.vdf (skipped while Steam runs, one-time backup), Steam launch routes and the native launch-options picker.
  • Logs & diagnostics — per-game Wine/Proton logs with a live viewer, Linux system diagnostics, anti-cheat runtime installs and runner maintenance.
  • Packaging — AppImage and .deb builds with matching in-app updates.

💡 Inspiration

GameIndex is built with — not just inspired by — excellent projects in the launcher space:

  • Hydra Launcher — the clean, modern approach to game distribution.
  • Playnite — the extensible, library-aggregation philosophy and customization depth.
  • LaunchBox — rich metadata, media, and emulation-focused cataloging.
  • Steam + GOG Galaxy — unified-library UX patterns.

We borrow the best ideas from each and aim to combine them into a single, lightweight native app.
